Construction process flow:
Construction preparation (material transportation and setting out) → base treatment (cleaning) → geogrid laying (laying method and overlapping width) → filler (method and particle size) → rolling grid → lower grid laying.
Construction method:
① Foundation treatment
Firstly, the lower layer shall be leveled and rolled. The flatness shall not be greater than 15mm, and the compactness shall meet the design requirements. The surface shall be free of hard protrusions such as gravel and block stone.
② Geogrid laying
A. When storing and laying the geogrid, avoid exposure to the sun and long time exposure to avoid performance deterioration.
b. The laying shall be perpendicular to the line direction, the lapping shall meet the requirements of the design drawings, and the connection shall be firm. The strength of the connection in the stress direction shall not be less than the design tensile strength of the material, and the overlapping length shall not be less than 20 cm.
c. The quality of the geogrid shall meet the requirements of the design drawings.
d. The construction shall be continuous without distortion, wrinkle and overlap. The grid shall be tensioned to make it bear the force. The grid shall be tensioned manually to make it uniform, flat and close to the lower bearing surface. The grid shall be fixed with pins and other measures.
e. For the geogrid, the direction of the long hole shall be consistent with the direction of the line cross section, and the geogrid shall be straightened and leveled. The grating end shall be treated according to the design.
f. Fill the geogrid in time after paving, and the interval shall not exceed 48h to avoid direct exposure to the sun.
③ Filler
After the grating is paved, it shall be filled in time. The filling shall be carried out symmetrically according to the principle of “two sides first, then the middle”. It is strictly forbidden to fill the middle of the embankment first. The filler is not allowed to be directly unloaded on the geogrid, but must be unloaded on the paved soil surface, and the unloading height is not more than 1m. All vehicles and construction machinery shall not walk directly on the paved geogrid, but only along the embankment.
④ Roll up grille
After the first layer of fill reaches the predetermined thickness and is rolled to the design compactness, the grid shall be rolled back for 2m and bound on the previous layer of geogrid, and the geogrid shall be manually trimmed and anchored. The outer side of the roll end shall be backfilled for 1m to protect the grid and prevent man-made damage.
⑤ One layer of geogrid shall be paved according to the above method, and other layers of geogrid shall be paved according to the same method. After the grid is paved, the upper embankment filling will be started.
Construction precautions:
① The direction of the maximum strength of the grid shall be consistent with the direction of the maximum stress.
② Heavy vehicles shall not be driven directly on the paved geogrid.
③ The cutting amount and sewing amount of geogrid shall be minimized to avoid waste.
④ During construction in cold seasons, the geogrid will become hard, and it is easy to cut hands and wipe knees. Pay attention to safety.
